3 Steps to Level Up Your Link in Bio (Setup a Domain Forward)

Updated: 6 days ago

Do you have a link that you share with your audience? (maybe several) Is that link customized to fit your brand and present as put together as you want to be online?

If you're in network marketing, maybe it even looks a little something like this:

Not horrible, but we can do better. As soon as someone joins our team, one of the first pieces of advice we give them is to setup a link for themselves so they are not share what you see above.

Doesn't this look so much better? https://www.therandommom.com

Granted.. I do have a full blown website - but you can accomplish this in just a few simple steps (and not a ton of cash).

Here's how you're going to do it:

Decide on a website name

First, you'll want to decide on what you want your website to be. You may have to switch it up a few times until you find a site that is available, but get creative!

Purchase your domain

There are several options, I like using BlueHost or Godaddy for this, but there are several to choose from and prices will typically run for about $12 for the first year. If you potentially may want to host a website at the same place you purchase your domain (which can be an affordable option, check into that before ordering a domain).

Forward your website

This is where it can get a tad tricky, but once you get it, it's super easy. You'll want to find the spot that gives you the option to "forward domain". If it's not on the page when you click "manage domain" look for the link for "manage DNS".

Once have located the "forward domain" section, all you'll have to do is copy/paste the website that you want to show after someone enters your fancy, schmancy new website - and boom! You're legit!

This is great because it cleans up that link for you when you are sharing it on social media and it's awesome because you can change the site anytime you need. So if you are with a company where you share party links and the link changes frequently, you can hope over and update the link as much as you need.

If you have several links to share, you may want to try something like a LinkTree (this article has a few great options) or check out this IG reel that I did with one of my favorite ways to have your links stand out.

If you have a team or a friend in business that may find this useful, share it with them!

Let me know if this helps and what other tips you want help with! I've got tons to share.
